5th Internet Campaign for ‘Finding Errors about Korea’ Held

The Korean Overseas Information Service of the Korean Government Agency is holding the 5th Internet Campaign for Finding Errors about Korea from Nov. 5 to Nov. 30.
Participants are to report any errors and incorrect information about Korea on the Internet through the Korean Government homepage (www.korea.net) or the Errors on Korea Reporting site (correct.korea.net).
Regarding that 65% of the entire Internet population in non-English countries, the language range has been expanded to Chinese, French, German and Spanish to the initial language for report, English.
The Korean Overseas Information Service is simultaneously holding another event of searching for new foreign sites about Korea with the Finding Errors about Korea campaign and excellent participants will be granted with prizes.
At the 4th campaign held last year, an article indicating that the royal family is still living in Changdeokgung(Palace) on the American magazine ‘Time’ was reported and was requested for deletion and a map site (www.mapquest.com) was incorrectly marked as ‘Sea of Japan’ instead of the ‘East Sea’.
In addition, a site introducing Taekwondo (koryoacademy) has incorrectly marked the Joseon Dynasty has ‘Yi dynasty’ and the Incheon International Airport was added to an airport information site (world airport guide) which only indicated Gimpo International Airport.
