Actual export and performance of farm produce during the third quarter has already reached 91% (109 million dollars) of the export goal (120 million dollars) this year. Export of processed foodstuffs has already exceeded target by 145%. 

Export status per product – processed foodstuff (68 billion dollars), livestock and seafood products (15 million dollars), special produced products (12 million Won), vegetables (7 million dollars), flowering plants (6 million dollars), fruits (2 million dollars). 

Most popular export items are ginseng products (12 million dollars), tea products (5.79 million dollars), western orchids (3.72 million dollars), processed seafood (2.94 million dollars), cactuses (2.87 million dollars), pears (2.43 million dollars) and kimchi (1.88 million dollars). 

Among livestock and seafood products, laver, processed seafood, shellfish and chicken has been successful in export and for special produced products, ginseng and mushroom products were favored by importers. 

For vegetable products, kimchi, seeds, paprika and edible herbs have been exported the most in order and for flowering plants, orchids were the most favorable and then cactuses, roses and other flowers. 

Export to Southeast Asia on fruits has reduced due to spread of the deadly epidemic, SARS in March, but has soon turned up by the increase of export to Taiwan other Asian regions. Export has increased 105% compared to the same period last year and export on pears takes up 66% of Taiwan’s pear market. 

In addition, processed food has achieved 145% (68 million dollars) of last year’s goal (47 million dollars) and noodles and liquor export has also increased.
