KG Farm offers ‘Value’ to Consumers and ‘Profit’ to Farms

To realize a consumer-friendly shopping mall and become a medium between farmers and consumers, KG Farm has established about 300 homepages to market over 3,600 products and has secured its position as a major Internet shopping mall in Korea.
The Gyeonggi Province has made efforts to actively operate KG Farm by supporting activities such as creating banner advertisements to attracts more members and increase sales, held events and various marketing strategies.
In 2001, when the province has first founded KG Farm, only 130 homepages has been operated but this figure has expanded to 310 this year and number of visitors has jumped from 460 thousand to 75 thousand. The initial number of products has also increased from 969 products to 600 and sales increased from about 300 million won to 9 million won.
As the results from operating KG Farm last year, sales as reached about 700 million won and sales has as exceeded this year’s target of 800 million won by accomplishing 1.1 billion won. Goal for next year will be set to 1.5 billion won and the site will continue to expand to promote farm profits.
