Working conference held for the upcoming East Asia Economic Summit

The Gyeonggi-do government is planning to hold a business meeting with economists from East Asia at the Gyeonggi Small & Medium Business Center (KSBC) from January 13 to 15. The purpose of this meeting is to discuss details of the opening of the 12th East Asia Economic Summit expected in October of this year.
18 people from 7 regions will be participating this working conference. (7 from Gyeonggi-do, 2 from Kanagawa (Japan), 1 from Taipei (Thailand), 1 from Selangor (Malaysia), 2 from the Industrial Estates Authority of Thailand (IEAT) and 5 from non-member regions (3 from Guangdongsheng and 2 from Taipei).
In addition, the Gyeonggi-do government will discuss main details on the operation affairs, increasing members, establishing executive offices in addition to venture exhibitions and trade consultations and other matters such as the agendas and subtitles, conference schedule, term and etc.
* Participant status by regions: 25 participants (18 delegates, 5 translators, 2 commerce employees)
– Member regions: 13 regions (2 from Kanagawa, 1 from Selangor, 1 from Taiwan, 2 from Thailand, 7 from Gyeonggi-do)
– Non-member regions: 5 regions (3 from Guangdongsheng, 2 from Taipei),
– Interpretation: 5 interpreters (2 English simultaneous interpreters, 2 Chinese consecutive interpreters, 1 Japanese consecutive interpreter)
The “12th East Asia Economic Summit” is planned to be held for 3 days during October at the Gyeonggi Small & Medium Business Center.
* China (Guangdong, Shandong, etc.), Singapore, Hong Kong, Taipei, Russia (Maritime Province of Siberia), Indonesia, Vietnam, India and other regions will be induced to participate.
During the 3 days the summit is held, a large-scaled Gyeonggi Venture Investment & Technology Exhibition will be held within the lobby and also in the open of KSBC.
Further plans include organizing a conference preparation committee in March, and forwarding invitations and participation applications to members and non-members in April.
An official web site to provide information about the East Asia Economic Summit will be established during May and June, and then a concrete scale of participates and preparations will be settled during August and September, and the actual event will finally be held in October.
