Taking part in the 6th Beijing High-tech Expo

Gyeonggi-do has announced its participation at the 6th International Beijing High-tech Expo (CHITEC 2004) to establish a bridgeheads into the Chinese market and expand export.

“CHITEC 2004” is a major event positively supported by the Chinese central government, where China’s Prime Minister directly delivers the opening speech every year. In 2002, the expo has succeeded with a trade amount of 7.3 billion dollars (397 cases).

At the expo from May 20 till 27, a commerce mission team made up of 17 company representatives from 9 companies, including Sunkwang Electronics will participate to display Chip LCD, surveillance cameras, small-size speakers, electron microscope and other Korean products will be on display.
The Korean commerce team will actively move about to *search for IT-related buyers and preoccupy overseas markets, *collect marketing information such as same competitive products, *searching for inroads into foreign markets such as reading the elasticity of demand on new products, and also *research on economic trend of participating regions.

During the exhibit, including the main exhibition halls, all exhibition halls and convenient locations throughout Beijing will also be occupied for this event.

An Gyeonggi provincial government official remarked, “Because of Beijing’s 2008 Olympics, China’s industrial demand has rapidly recovered after the IT infra and SARS. Buyers from all over the world are expected to participate this expo.”

He also added, “Small and medium enterprises will be supported to cultivate foreign markets, and this will greatly promote to the local economy. International competitiveness for Korean businesses will enhance greatly.”

In addition, the Gyeonggi-do government 15 exhibitions with the best contract results will be chosen out of all Korean participants and these 15 companies will be aided in advancing and marketing in overseas markets.
