o Trade delegation dispatched to Argentina & Brazil 

The Gyeonggi provincial government announced that it will explore the new sales route by dispatching a trade delegation on May 25, consisting of the province’s leading SMBs to Brazil and other central & South American countries. 

The trade delegation consists of 14 officials from 11 SMBs such as Daewoen Electronics. They visited Brazil (San Paulo), Argentina (Buenos Aires), and Venezuela (Caracas) with main export commodities including DVD players, LCD TVs, medical products and automobile repair equipments from June 2 through 14. 

The delegation’s tasks are securing buyers and conducting consultation conducting regional group and individual consultation collecting information on potential competitors, market features and marketing variables understanding the marketability and verifying the partner organizations’ commitment studying the means of advancement through recording consumer response to new products. 

An official from the province stated, “The significance of the trade delegation dispatch lies on the effort to make an earlier entry into Central & South American markets, which have been realizing record economic growths along with the US economic recovery.” 

Gyeonggi Province’s trade with Brazil has been increasing since the Mercosur tariff agreement in 1995. 39 electric and electronic products from the province are ranked within the top five in the Argentinean import market. Gyeonggi has been recording trade surplus in its relations with Venezuela.
