The 1st Northeast Asia Symposium is being held at the Gyeonggi Small and Medium Business Center for two days from July 6.
The event co-hosted by Gyeonggi Province of Korea, Liaoning Province of China and Kanagwa Province of Japan and sponsored by the Gyeonggi Research Institute was launched for exchange of substantial cooperation for joint development of the three leading provinces of the three countries in Northeast Asia.
The event also plans to look for agendas to be submitted to the Friendly Forum for Provincial Leaders scheduled for October, while bolstering the ties between the three provinces and exchanging views concerning matters of common interest.
The symposium will be focused on finding ways of exchanges and cooperation between the three provinces, including: △ methods of invigoration of practical economic cooperation and △ exchange of information and joint research for prevention of environmental pollution in the region.
The annual event was suggested by Gyeonggi Governor Sohn Hak-gyu at a tripartite meeting held in Liaoning Province, China in October 2002.
