Gyeonggi-do Museum will host a special lecture “Goguryeo History in Bright Light” for the provincial residents between 2pm and 6pm on December 15, 2004.
The lecture is intended to inform more people of the truth about Korea’s ancient history about which China’s Northeast Asia Project had stirred up much interest. It is to encourage both direct and indirect participation of residents in successfully secure the nation’s root.
A relatively easy topic of Goguryeo history will be studied in detail by persons without an expert knowledge. The lecture will feature Goguryeo remains in China, those in Gyeonggi-do area, and the truth about Northeast Asia Project.
Three Goguryeo Historians including Professor Seo Gil-su from Seogyeong University will lead the lectures with Seo, in particular, introducing new information that he acquired during his visit to China to the public.
A person in charge of the event from the museum stated, “The museum is carrying out an index survey to look for new remains inside the province while studying the condition of all existing ones. Gyeonggi-do is the region where most vestiges of Goguryeo are found in South Korea. The province will lead the nation’s effort to stop the China’s attempt for distorting the history. We ask for participation of many people including the children to remind them of the importance in securing the national root.”
