Film star Jung Jun-ho said that he would join in the half course contest of the 2005 Goyang Marathon for Gyeonggi Province Lovers scheduled for 09:00 a.m. on May 29. 

Chung, who acts as the PR Ambassador for 2005, the Visit Gyeonggi-Korea said, ” am glad to join in the event held in Goyang, where the 1 million square meter-sized Hallyuwood (a section of a city named after Hollywood for display of Korean pop cultures, with Hallyu meaning the current boom among Japanese, Chinese and Southeast Asians for the Korean pop culture) will be built. I hope that many film fans will be able to run side by side with me.” He is known to have trained himself in the jogging course at Mt. Namsan. 

Other pop stars and Olympic gold medalists are also expected to join in the event. Thus, participants will be able to get the feel of Hallyuwood and the whole event will be an enjoyable festivity. 

Gyeonggi Governor Sohn Hak-kyu said, “I hope that event will be the arena in which the nation’s stars popular among other Asians have a good time with their foreigner fans. The Provincial Office will provide full support for the marathon event so that it may attract a large number of people from all over the world.” 

The Goyang City will do its best to maintain good order on the road and within the event site and secure sufficient parking spaces for those visiting from faraway places.
