– Korean parts for major IT, LCD, and PDP-related equipments/ 120 new employments

150 people including the Provincial Governor Sohn Hak-kyu of Gyeonggi, CEO Okada Masanori of Nikko Materials, and CEO Ono Morikats of Nikko Materials Korea attended the plant completion ceremony at Eoyeon Hansan Industrial Complex in Cheongbuk-myeong of Pyeongtaek on May 19.

The completion was reached only in 11 months since the signing of investment agreement when Governor Sohn visited headquarters of Nikko Materials in Japan on June 1, 2004. The company is a market leader supplying over 50% of ITO Target for display products from across the world with a corporate history of 100 years.

* ITO(Indium Tin Oxide) Target heightens conductivity and transparency by coating an ITO layer over FPD display glass for LCD, PDP, and organic EL.

Nikko Materials holds 60 high-end technology patents demonstrative of its market position in terms of technology might.

Governor Sohn pointed out that Nikko Materials Korea is one of the examples in synergy creation from fusing advanced technology of a foreign company and superb HR in Gyeonggi-do. He welcomed introduction of this world-class company into the province in regards to its contribution in regional and national prosperity. He emphasized that the company’s business will significantly better IT-LCD technology might in Korea, employment, and local economic invigoration.

The company’s manufactured goods will be supplied to Samsung Electronics and LG-Phillips. It plans to hire 120 new office and production employees.
