– Trade Consultations Worth $10 Million and Contracts Valued at $2.9 Million –
Gyeonggi-do participated in the Madrid Automobile Parts Exhibition 2005 (MOTORTEC 2005) at Parque Ferial Juan Carlos in Spain from May 11 through 15. 10 companies from the province including M2 came home with an impressive performance of engaging in trade consultations worth $10.577 million and contracts valued at $2.912 million.
This is the first year that the province took part at MOTORTEC where automobile parts and peripheral goods such as accessories, car audios, and tires are put in display.
MOTORTEC is one of the 3 biggest exhibitions in Europe along with AUTOMECHANIKA of Frankfurt and EQUIPAUTO of Paris. It was the 8th time that this biannual event took place. One company from Anseong signed an annual contract worth $1.5 million for export of the next-generation automobile air conditioner coolant with a Spanish company. The company was offered a sales agency contract from other buyers, too.
Automobile part is the pillar industry for the automobile sector as it incorporates high-end works in electronics, wireless communication, and display. The trend of global outsourcing for parts is expected to heighten the demand for Korean goods, and to particularly improve orders to companies from Gyeonggi-do (213, 24.3%) where the industry is fostered in concentration.
