The Global Job Fair scheduled to be held at the KINTEX on June 30 is expected to be a great success, with many promising hi-tech businesses expressing their interest and offering plans for recruitment of new employees.

LG-Phillips LCD announced a plan to recruit 300 people in R&D and Samsung Electronics, LG Electronics and 3M are also planning to recruit 100 or so new employees, respectively. Foreign-based hi-tech businesses in the province are expected to follow suit.

The job fair, which is distinguished from others in that it is focused on hi-tech businesses’ requirement for highly talented people, is expected to serve as a meeting place for youths looking for good job opportunities and businesses requiring highly talented or skilled youths.

The job fair will be comprised of the Recruitment Pavilion, which is divided into the Foreign Business Hall, the Hi-tech Hall and the Domestic Hall, the Employment-Related Consulting Pavilion, the Employment Information Pavilion, the Support Service Pavilion and the Seminar Pavilion.

An exhibition space will help participating job seekers better understand what 68 foreign-based hi-tech in the province are doing by displaying their products and introducing their current status of operation, in addition to introducing the provincial office’s effort to develop itself as a knowledge-based hi-tech cluster.

Businesses and job seekers interested in participating in the job fair (scheduled for June 23 through July 7) should submit application by June 25 via http://global.jobkorea.co.kr.

Participating businesses will be allowed to use Job Korea’s system for searching talented youths and bizmon.com free for a month. Participating job seekers, on their part, can enjoy various free services, such as the use of the interactive recruit-matching system, photos to be attached to resumes, aptitude/personality tests, consulting for employment either in or out of Korea, etc.

A provincial government official said, “We are striving to make the event a first-rate one in which highly qualified businesses and job seekers can meet each other.”
