-Businesses from the province won orders worth $21 million at their first participation in the event
At the CTT 2005 (Construction Equipment and Technologies) expo held at the International Exhibition Center in Moscow, Russia from May 31 to June 4, seven businesses from Gyeonggi Province, including Myeongseong Indtustries, won supply contracts worth $ 21 million in total and made negotiations worth $ 69.6 million from their first participation in the annual event.
In the fourth annual international event in which a total of 417 businesses from 26 countries (compared to 277 businesses from 20 countries in 2004) attended, those from Gyeonggi Province also checked the current trend of the construction technologies of the world.
At the event, construction equipment, such as cranes, excavators, bulldozers, forestry machinery, tunnel equipment, mining equipment, and their parts were displayed. It is expected that the event will help Korean businesses participate in various projects carried out in Siberia having infinite development potentials, as 70% of attendees are Russian businesses.
A business in Yongin is known to get close to signing a $9.4 million supply contract for excavator parts on the strength of better product quality and prices than those of Japanese or European competitors. The event in Moscow attracted less visitors than its counterparts held in Germany (BAUMA), France (INTERMAT) or the U.S. (CONEXPO), but business watchers say that it has a high growth potential.
