The World Ceramic Exposition Foundation is opening a ‘play with earth’ children’s workshop for 24 days from April 21 to May 14 at the Toya Education Hall in the Icheon World Ceramic Center. This ‘Kids Workshop’ is a new art education model for pottery that consists of an integrated program of observation, discussion, and practice, which will allow children to experience working with environmentally friendly materials and making them into whichever desired shapes and sizes.
A specialist on observation and expression will be instructing the children to work together, and will create an atmosphere where the participants will put there skills to use after observing and discussing amongst one another.
This ‘Kids Workshop’, which is designed to boost creativity and innovation by becoming closer to earth and better understanding earthenware, contains various programs such as ‘Imagination Zoo’ (children create themselves), ‘Abracadabra Ceramics’ (family-based class), and ‘Hush! My Secret’ (making your own jewelry box).
Viewing time is from 10am to 6pm, and specialists will be instructing during four periods per day. In order to participate as a group (class), reservations must be made ahead of time.
