2006 Cultural Exchange with Foreign Women in Korea was held in Gyeonggi’s No. 2 Governmental Building to publicize greatness of Korean culture and provide opportunity to experience Korean cultures to foreigners.
Various folk games and plays such as Korean classical chamber music, traditional percussion quartet, also know as samulnoli, fan dance, rice cake cooking, self-wearing of Hanbok, the Korean traditional dress, and its fashion show, folk song contest, and etc. were available at Daejanggeum Park in Yangju on the 20th.
Cultural exchange program with foreigners has been continued from 2000 for 6 years, allowing approximately 1,600 foreigners to participate. Various on-the-spot experience events such as Yangju Byeulsandae Nori, Doorae Village, Korean Pottery Expo and etc. which all clearly have spoken out the peculiarity of Gyeonggi’s culture, had received a great response.
Local province anticipated that this event would give a great change to the foreign women who came to Korea to learn and understand the Korean culture.
