“Public Management System for Local Environment”to be launched in 7 cities and districts around Paldang

GIHE, Gyeonggi Institute of Health and Environment reported that from 2007 the sewage disposal facilities of 7 cities around Paldang will be applied with the “Public Management System for Local Environment” which will be the part of water purifying plan for the water improvement of Gyeongan stream.

19,000 sewage disposal facilities around Paldang wherein approximately 500 facilities are operated to control more than 50 tons of water are very poorly operated and managed.

Not only the inspection services to be provided by GIHE to each facilities, the Technical Support Team will also be formed with experienced work forces for better services and supports so to build environment friendly sewage disposal system in the local.

216 facilities, which are provided with the Technical Support Team by GIHE, out of 298 facilities required for “Public Management System for Local Environment”, have completed setting up the new water purifying control system.

Also, for the 21 facilities of superannuated equipments, insufficient capacity and etc., which all are eventually required for the facility improvement, the cost support has already been provided. With a certain period of time for testing and adaptation of new equipments, water examination will soon be implemented to such facilities to confirm its improvement.

Next technical support is now slated for implementation in October targeting 61 facilities.

GIHE said that they are doing their utmost to achieve number one graded water of Paldang with Gyeonggi’s Water Improvement Planning Department.
