Cities and districts bringing out the plan to reduce the commission

Gyeonggi is now trying to lose the big bubble in their car registration fee.

With a new car registration plate introduced on December 1st, local province, on 29th, reported that it would have an in-depth analysis on the currently applied car registration commission so to amend the commission into an adequate level.

Up to the present, each district had been applying different amount of commissions that differs by KRW6,000 at the least and KRW14,000 at the most.; for instance, Yongin for KRW6,900, Yangpyeong for KRW21,000 and etc.

Upon the proposal submitted by the Construction & Transportation Committee of the provincial assembly, Gyeonggi will introduce an Open Bidding System for the local cities and districts in making car registration plate, which will eventually derive the price reduction.

Up until the 5th, local province will screen the actual invoice submitted by the registration plate maker together with the price actually used in the current market. After than, the negotiation process will take place till the 10th, targeted for any commission that appears to be extraordinary which is to be brought down to the reasonable level.

“Each cities and districts in the same province having different commission, for instance, you will have to pay 3 times higher commission in Yangpyeong than Yongin, would lead people to have a feeling that they are not belong in the same place, which will then lead them to feel the sense of incompatibility. There may be some limitation in reforming the commission policy upon the legal issue, however, we will try to use all our management authority to derive a certain reduction in the commission so to withdraw any complaints that the local citizens currently have.”, said the Administrative Official, Mun, Wanseok of City Transportation Team.
