The Gyeonggi government has started actual promotion activities of the Japanese Agricultural Administration Research starting Jan. this month.
The government held a formation general meeting of the Japanese Agricultural Administration Research at the Gyeonggi Small & Medium Business Center (GSBC) meeting room on Jan. 10 with about 30 attendants including the Chief of the Agricultural Administration Dept., Choi, Hyung-geun.

Topics discussed at the meeting were *research on Japanese agriculture and farm village policy measures *research on Japanese rice consumer promotion policies *Analysis of the current status of Japanese farm produce trade *examination on the production technology of Japanese crops and other topics will be grafted to Gyeonggi’s agricultural policies.

Also case studies of the Japanese agriculture policy system and field adaptation, consumer promotion policies, production and distribution of special products, actual conditions of supply and demand, technology research, exportation and importation and other policies will be researched and benchmarked.

The background of the Japanese Agricultural Administration Research goes back to when provincial governor, Kim Moon-soo visited Japan and requested that Japanese agriculture development policy research should be studied and used appropriately in Nov. last year. Japan has numerous kinds of rice cakes and also over 6,000 liquors, all packaged in different names and designs. Japan’s patience on researching on beans for over a century is the foundation of their agriculture development.

In the mean time, about 30 agricultural government employees including the Chief of the Agricultural Administration Dept., Choi, Hyung-geun, policy advisor of farm produce distribution, Lee Jin-chan, and other officials from related departments, headquarters, branch offices have participated this event.

A Gyeonggi official remarked, “By benchmarking Japan’s excellent agriculture policies and the production, manufacture and distribution of special products, this will help boost exportation, sales and publicity of Gyeonggi-grown products.”
