Spring, a season for flower outings, has come. Flowers that have been hiding from the spring frost are finally starting to blossom. Relieve your stress from the work week by taking an outing to enjoy the flowers of spring. Here are some places recommended by the Gyeonggi Tourism Organization.

Comi Fructus, the Messenger of Spring, Opens its Yellow Bud
People associate Comi fructus with southern provinces, but they can also easily find the Comi fructus at its peak in major metropolitan areas. Visitors can see the Comi fructus village in Icheon and Yangpyeong, with only a short drive.

The regions from Songmal-ri, Dorib-ri, Domal-ri to Gyeongsa-ri in Baeksa-myeon, Icheon are literally covered with Comi fructus flowers, where the number of Comi fructus trees, ranging from young trees to trees more than 500 years old, reach 17,000. Icheon Baksa Mountain Comi Fructus Festival will be held from March 30 (Fri) to April 1 (Sun)

Yangpyeong also holds a Yangpyeong Gaegun Festival during the same period. The city prepared this festival to showcase Comi fructus is at its peak, fully blossomed on 8,000 trees that are up to hundreds of years old in Nae-ri and Jueup-ri, Gaegun-myeon. Gaegun Korean beef cattle, a special product of Gaegun-myeon, will also be introduced in the festival. (031-770-3341)

Soft Pink Azaleas Festival
If the forsythia fully blossomed on the roadside seems passé, consider the soft pink azalea. The group of azalea behind the Weonmi Park in Weonmi Mountain, Bucheon, has blossomed beautifully. About 30,000 azaleas are planted on a slightly high hillside, 167m above sea level on 29,700 square meters of land, which is open to the public, allowing the enjoyment of mountain hiking and flowers at the same time.
