Advertising in three cities including Hanoi… export target 4 million dollars

Traditional and special products from Gyeonggi Province are becoming popular in Vietnam.
Following the success of a similar blitz last year, Gyeonggi Province is launching another “Advertising superior traditional and special products from Gyeonggi Province” blitz, for 15 days (from the 21st of this month to the 6th of next month) in Vietnam.
Gyeonggi Province has announced that the event will take place in 11 supermarkets or discount stores in three cities, including Hanoi and Danang.
Traditional and special products that will be emphasized in this event includes Goryeo Ginseng from Osan, Citron tea from Dajeong, Pocheon, seasoned seaweed from Haewuchon, ramen from Hanil Food, and other special products manufactured in Gyeonggi Province.
Gyeonggi Province is hoping to reach not only Korean residents, but also the native Vietnamese population, with the goal of expanding exports to USD 4 million.
Last year, the total amount acquired by selling special products such as ginseng, drinks, and teas reached KRW 2.376 million won.
This promotion has involved Gyeonggi Province pays rent for the location, advertising and other personnel for selected exporters.
Also, Gyeonggi Province selects one farm that wants to export their agricultural products, and provides support for air transportation, advertising and the collection of information about the region.
Kim Seok-jong, who is in charge of agricultural trade for Gyeonggi Province says, “We will continuously support our superior manufacturers in the global export of their products.” He added, “This year, we will be advertising about once or twice a month in many other countries, including America, Japan, China, Taiwan and Europe.”
