US Forces in Korea Experiences Cultural Activities such as Tea Ceremony and Folk Villages
Gyeonggi Province announced that, as the relocation of USFK base to Pyeongtaek is beginning in earnest, it is starting to conduct cultural activities for US forces in Korea on June 25th, so as to contribute to the enhancement of friendly relations between Korea and the US, through cultural exchange.
The outing on June 25th was filled with rich, new cultural experiences for the USFK, including a traditional tea ceremony and a visit to the folk village. This gave US troops a change to acquaint themselves with the culture and history of Gyeonggi Province.
Gyeonggi Province plans to visit USFK soldiers residing in Gyeonggi Province, so as to provide them with further opportunities to experience Gyeonggi Province’s culture, history, and industry. By broadening the soldiers’ understanding of Gyeonggi Province, friendship between the two countries will be boosted.
This cultural outing has taken place twice so far this year. The second event, which is participated in by 78 US soldiers, includes ropewalking, a traditional Korean wedding, and equestrian martial arts.
