This can be taken as Fusso Korea’s effort to expand its market, by increasing the production of semiconductor and LCD coating products.
Fusso Korea is the leader in Teflon (fluororesin) treatment technology. The company was established as a joint venture with Nippon Fusso, a company that has been acknowledged for its technology over the past 40 years.
In particular, Fusso Korea possesses the Teflon treatment technology in the semiconductor and LCD sector, supplying coating products to Samsung SDI and Samsung Electronics. The company also exports coating products for semiconductor wafer devices and vacuum tanks to American and Japanese firms.
Teflon treatment technology treats the surface of aluminum or aluminum alloy, coating the surface of aluminum by making a strong thermal oxide and penetrating Teflon into the thermal oxide, and is usually used in coating frying pans and irons.
Fusso Korea posted KRW 2.6 billion of revenue in 2006, and aims to make KRW 4 billion this year.
The completion ceremony was joined by about 100 guests, including Governor Kim, Fusso Group representatives, Chairman of Nippon Fusso Mamoru Toyooka, President of Nippon Fusso Satoru Toyooka, CEO of Fusso Korea Lee Byeong-rak, and representatives from affiliated companies.
At the ceremony, Governor Kim said, “Fusso Korea pioneered a new market with the best technology in Teflon coating, and greatly contributed to the industrial development of Korea. On behalf of the 11 million residents of this province, I would like to pay my gratitude to you for constructing this remarkable factory.”
Governor Kim also promised, “I am convinced that our everyday lives will become more fruitful and comfortable thanks to Fusso’s technology, and all government officials will strive to provide Fusso with the best possible support.”
Governor Kim joined the tape cutting ceremony to congratulate the completion of the plant with Satoru Toyooka and Mamoru Toyooka of Fusso Group, Fusso Korea executives, and members of the provincial assembly, and took a look around the factory facilities.
Governor Kim participated in the plate-hanging ceremony of the Foreign Investment Company Consultation Committee Office located within the Foreign Investment Company Complex dedicated to foreign companies in Hyeongok, Pyeongtaek City, with 50 other officials from the Province.
At the ceremony, Governor Kim stressed, “I would like to congratulate you on forming a consulting committee and opening the office for the first time in Korea. Not only Gyeonggi Province, but also the public officials of Pyeongtaek City and members of the National Assembly from the region will provide active support.”
Governor Kim said, “It is difficult to carry on a manufacturing business in Korea. I would like to pay my gratitude to all of the foreign entrepreneurs who run businesses in Korea, and who are investing in Korea, despite a difficult environment, in which many other companies are leaving Korea.”
