Gyeonggi Province will introduce the first-ever mobile administration service, to facilitate a prompt administration process.

Gyeonggi Province has established an SMS (Short Message Service) system, which allows executive-level public officials, including the deputy director, to send text messages to the cell phones of management-level staff.

The SMS system will save time in the administration process, because the governor of the province can send an “approval completed” message to a drafter as soon as he is finished signing the electronic document. This allows the drafter to know the requests from a person approving the document, in real time.

The system also enables executive-level public officials to send text messages to employees, so as to make requests directly. By doing so, Gyeonggi Province is approaching the dawn of the u-City, through the mobile administration SMS system.
