Gyeonggi Province launched its public transportation website (bus operation information) on March 17, 2008.
Although Gyeonggi Province has been providing information about bus schedules and its integrated fare system for public transportation in the Seoul Metropolitan area for some time now via the bus information system of the GyeonggiNet website, it will soon be providing Gyeonggi residents with the most up-to-date public transit information possible through the newly updated public transportation website system. The system will include diverse information about public transportation in Gyeonggi Province, such as the organization of the public transportation system, various statistical data, and the progress of major initiatives as well as real-time information about bus operation and the integrated fare system.
The public transportation website (bus operation information) will also have the names and contact numbers of the 36 staff members in charge, including the public transportation division head. This will enable Gyeonggi residents to access information about the current status of the public transportation system, including public transportation fares and the activities of the Gyeonggi bus operation committees, and allow residents to directly express their opinions by communicating with the staff in charge via the phone.
Most notably, the “Bus Information System” and the “Integrated Fare System,” two items that have drawn a great deal of interest from local residents, will be accessible from the main menu of the website and linked to existing systems in order to prevent confusion. “Major Initiatives” will also be included on the main menu, so that site visitors can monitor the progress of major initiatives implemented by the public transportation division, such as the remodeling of bus transfer terminals, the introduction of the Gyeonggi bus brand, the advancement of Gyeonggi buses, the installation of bus destination LED display panels, the introduction of non-step buses, the operation of night express buses, the remodeling of cross-country bus terminals and bus stops, and the promotion of traffic cards.
The public transportation website (bus operation information) is open to feedback from citizens. The “Q&A” section, which consists of three categories including the Integrated Fare System, Traffic Cards, and Bus Fees, was introduced to help residents to easily understand issues that have been the subjects of frequent inquiries. Opinions and complaints regarding the integrated fare system, bus fees, traffic cards, bus routes, bus operation schedules, and bus driver service will be linked to the call center and handled as civil applications.
For users who require information about the eB Traffic and T-money cards and request refunds due to billing errors, direct links to the responsible customer centers will be provided to guarantee prompt service.
In order to provide information about revisions and improvements in the public transportation system of Gyeonggi Province to residents in a prompt manner, the public transportation website (bus operation information) will have a “Notice” item on its main menu. Information about changes in the public transportation system, policies, and responses of local residents will be immediately provided to website visitors via “Notice” and “Press Release,”; the bus policy division has appointed a staff member dedicated to updating this information.
