Gyeonggi Research Institute (President Jwa Sung-hee, www.gri.kr) will conclude an agreement for research exchange with Tianjin Social Science Institute, a leading research institution of Tianjin, China, on March 28, 2008. It is expected that the agreement with Tianjin will enable Gyeonggi Province to actively research exchanges in divers areas. Tianjin is emerging as a new economic hub of China to rival Pudong, thanks in part to the strategic development of the Binhai Zone.

This agreement aims to strengthen the research capabilities of both parties by building a system for systematic cooperation and stimulating research exchange. The scope of the includes exchange of research personnel, joint research, sharing of information, and joint use of research equipment and facilities.

The agreement will be concluded at the Reception Hall of Tianjin City Hall at 6:00 P.M. on March 28, 2008, and the signing ceremony will be joined by officials from both parties, including Gyeonggi Governor Kim -soo, Gyeonggi Research Institute President Jwa Sung-hee, the Mayor of Tianjin, and the President of the Tianjin Social Science Institute.
