Strengthening Korea’s Status as a Powerful Marine Leisure Exporter and Importer through the Korea International Boat Show

Gyeonggi Province will host exporter meetings for foreign buyers participating in 2008 Korea International Boat Show, which will be held between June 11 and 15, 2008. The exporter meetings aim to promote the Korean marine leisure industry, a future growth engine industry with high added-value.

The 2-day exporter meetings will be held on June 10 and 11, 2008, and 105 promising buyers from 20 countries, including countries with advanced marine leisure industries such as Australia and the US will have one-on-one business matching sessions with 86 Korean marine leisure companies.

The one-on-one matching sessions between foreign buyers and domestic businesses, which will be the highlight of the exporter meetings, will be held at the Business Center and in booths in the exhibition hall on Business Day, June 10, 2008. To facilitate smooth communication between buyers and businesses, interpreters will be provided to each buyer.

Gyeonggi Province, home of about 33% of all domestic manufacturers in the marine leisure sector, plans to play a leading role in turning the success of Korea International Boat Show into a foundation for the stimulation of the marine leisure industry with high added value and as a stepping stone for the ultimate goal of entering the era of GDP USD 30,000. The province also aims to lay the foundation for marine leisure industry exports by helping businesses to secure overseas market channels and expanding exports through exporter meetings.
