– Province Selects 36 Excellent Eco-resources and Publishes a Guidebook

Gyeonggi Province will provide 5 sessions of its Eco-Fam Tour from September to November, 2008. The tour aims to highlight the province’s efforts in environmental management while stimulating the export of superior environmental facilities and technology by promoting leading environmental resources and facilities among visitors from abroad.

The province selected 36 superior eco-resources and facilities, and has published a guidebook (refer to the image below).

The 36 items selected include 9 eco-resources, 12 environmental facilities (wastewater treatment facilities, incineration facilities, water purification facilities, etc.), 3 companies with the lowest emissions (Hynix, etc.), 3 companies with exemplary environmental management, 2 eco-friendly product manufacturers, and 7 exhibition and academic research organizations.

Eco Fam Tour will begin with a tour for teachers and students of the Gyeonggi Suwon International School at the end of September, followed by a tour for foreign tech college students and scientific and technical officers of foreign embassies in October, and a tour for foreign journalists, foreign female residents, and foreign business owners in November. The 5 sessions of the Eco-Fam Tour will be attended by a total of 180 participants.

The province plans to promote its commitment to environmental management and to promote its environmental resources and facilities as brands as well as tourism resources by selecting superior environmental resources, facilities, and businesses and introducing them to foreigners.

The province also expects that the tour will serve as an opportunity to export the technology used by leading environmental facilities and businesses.
