On April 14, Gyeonggi Province announced that the Korea International Boat Show 2009 is successfully gaining global attention despite the current economic challenges

The No. 1 and the No. 2 French companies in the boat and yacht industry, Beneteau and Jeanneau, recently expressed their intention to participate in the Show. Both companies are affiliates of the Beneteau Group, which has a 100-year history in the industry.

Beneteau is the largest leisure boat manufacturer in France and Europe, with revenues of EUR 387 million (KRW 680 billion) in 2007.

Princess Yachts, the UK premium boat manufacturer, is also participating in this Show. Princess Yacht is renowned for large-scale premium boats, and the film ‘007’ and the Korean drama ‘Fantastic Couple’ both featured its boats.

One of the domestic participants in the Show will be Woosung I.B. The company participated in the International Boat Show in 2008, where it gained global recognition for its inflatable boats. It has now secured more than one third of the US boat market. Leisure boats and lifeboats made by Zebec have sailed in the rivers and seas of 60 countries in the Americas, Europe, and Southeast Asia.

The products of these companies and a wide range of other domestic and foreign companies will be showcased at World International Boat Show 2009 Korea and Korea Match Cup World Match Racing Tour.

World International Boat Show 2009 Korea and Korea Match Cup World Match Racing Tour, which will be held at Jeongok Port of Hwaseong City and Tando Port of Ansan City this June 3 to June 7, will feature exhibitions of boats, yachts, and related parts, a ground-breaking ceremony for a new maritime industrial complex, investor meetings to attract domestic and foreign businesses, and an international conference representing Asia, in order to facilitate international trade in the marine leisure sector.
