The International Sky Leisure Expo 2009, to be held at Siwha Lake in Ansan City, Gyeonggi Province, from May 1 to May 5, 2009, features a wide range of sky leisure programs.

The Expo is hosted by Gyeonggi Province and Ansan City, and is sponsored by the Gyeonggi Tourism Organization. The Expo includes eight experience programs in which more than 35,000 visitors can participate. Most notably, selected visitors are allowed to fly above Siwha Lake in an ultra-light motorized hang-glider with a skilled pilot for ten minutes. More than 10 hang-gliders will operate during the Expo, giving 300 visitors an opportunity to fly above the lake during the five-day event. Visitors aged 10 to 65 can apply for the program at the Expo website (www.skyexpo.or.kr). Candidates will be selected and announced on April 27, 2009.

Hang-glider land training, through which participants learn the structure of the hang-glider, the names of its component parts, and how to take off, is expected to gain popularity.
