Celebrities make ceramic works to mark the opening of World Ceramic Biennale 2009.
The ceramic-making event, held as part of the World Ceramic Biennale 2009, which takes place in Icheon from April 25 to May 17, 2009, will be attended by celebrities such as Lee Gye-In, Gang Seok, Lee Chang-Whan, Kim Shin-Young, Lee Bong-Won, and Christina – a star of the TV show Beauties’ Chat who was recently appointed as a Gyeonggi Ambassador – and over 10 ceramic artists. This is expected to provide visitors with a highly memorable experience.
The Biennale organizing committee seeks to provide visitors with the unique experience of making ceramics together with celebrities and ceramic artists through the Celebrities’Ceramic-Making event. The works of participating celebrities will be displayed at the Biennale site, attracting visitors¡¯ attention.
An official of the organizing committee said, “The ceramic works made by celebrities will help the public become more familiar with ceramic arts, which can be difficult to fully appreciate.
The ceramic-making event is expected to be one of the visitors¡¯ favorite programs, along with the exhibition of unique ceramic works and diverse experiences. The Biennale, opened on April 25, 2009, will be run for 30 days until May 24, in Icheon, Yeoju, and Gwangju of Gyeonggi Province, under the theme ¡°Adventures of Fire”.
