Gyeonggi Province Governor Kim Moon Soo sent a congratulatory message to Kim Yu–Na, who was chosen as one of Time Magazine’s 100 most influential people.

Governor Kim sent the following words of encouragement to Kim Yu-Na in a telegram:

“Together with the 12 million residents of Gyeonggi Province,  I would like to congratulate on Kim Yu Na for having been selected as one of Time Magazine’s 100 most influential people in the world. We hope Kim Yu Na can play a larger role in promoting the status of Korean sports internationally while raising the national status of Korea.”

Kim Yu Na was chosen as one of the 100 most influential people in the world by the U.S. news magazine Time on April 29th. The Olympic gold-medal figure skater took part in a celebratory event in New York on the 5th together with other luminaries including former U.S. President Clinton.

Kim Yu-Na signed on the agreement with Governor Kim on the 2nd, and sent a message of encouragement which read ¡°Cheers to the residents of Gyeonggi Province!’¡±

An official of Gyeonggi Province¡¯s Sports Promotion Division commented, “Goveror Kim¡¯s telegram reflects the spirit of the message of encouragement from Ms. Kim. I hope that Gyeonggi Province can continue its special relationship with Kim Yu–Na, who inspires all Koreans.”
