The Gyeonggi Provincial Government and the Center for Namhansanseong Culture and Tourism announced on the 20th of this month that they had developed three characters, Nami, Hani, and Sanseongi, to represent Namhansanseong, and that the characters would be widely used to help the public more intimately appreciate and easily understand the historical and cultural significance of Namhansanseong, an internationally renowned cultural heritage site.

The Namhansanseong characters personify the fortress by embodying its distinctive features, and their names have been derived from structural elements of Namhansanseong.
