Gyeonggi Provincial Medical Center Icheon Hospital Offers Free Examinations for Foreign Workers
The Gyeonggi Provincial Medical Center Icheon Hospital (Director Lee Moon-hyung) opened its clinic to foreign workers from 18:00 between March 29 and 30 to help foreign workers who have difficulty scheduling health checks due to their working hours.
Over 180 employees working in Sindun-myeon and Baeksa-myeon of Icheon City came for blood tests, urine tests, and X-ray examinations at the clinic to detect potential health problems in their early stages.
There are approximately 900 foreign workers residing in Icheon according to the Icheon Police Station. Most these workers are not covered by insurance due to various reasons. As such, this was a great opportunity to get their health checked and receive appropriate treatment.
An Icheon Hospital official said that the local government is planning to extend the benefit to other workers so they can detect and treat diseases and thus enjoy better quality of life.
