Education Specialists Give Gyeonggi English Village a Big Thumbs-Up
(August 10, 2011)
Education specialists from Asia and Africa pay a visit to English Town
Education specialists from Asia and Africa came to visit Gyeonggi English Village Paju Camp to view the facilities and the current courses, giving it a big thumbs-up.
According to Gyeonggi English Village’s announcement on the 9th of August, fifteen education specialists from Tanzania, Congo, Burkina Faso, Guinea Bissau, and six other countries are also participating in the Korea-UNESCO Fellowship Program hosted by the Asia-Pacific Centre of Education for International Understanding Under the Auspices of UNESCO.
Since 2007 the Asia-Pacific Centre of Education for International Understanding Under the Auspices of UNESCO has been hosting this training program for educators from countries in Africa and the Asia-Pacific region to enhance their teaching capacities and international leadership skills. The visit to the Gyeonggi English Village has been included in the program since 2009.
Dr. Fritz Cadioma of the Malawi Education Department said, “The official language in Malawi is English, so I have always been keen on English education. The environment which the English Village recreates is optimal for learning a foreign language. The fact that children get a chance to learn English from native teachers in such a setting is amazing.”
