Bucheon Robo Park Visited by 300,000 People!
(September 19, 2011)
Bucheon Robo Park (401, Bucheon Techno Park, 193, Yakdae-dong, Wonmi-gu, Bucheon City), Korea’s largest robot museum, has reopened after renovations that began in May. It hosted the ‘300,000 Visitors Celebration Event’ to thank the people who supported the museum.
The lucky 300,000th customer visited the museum with kindergarten classmates on a school trip from Incheon and won a fully automated vacuum machine. In second place were Kim Jeong-nam and Kim Tae-hyeon, both from Bucheon. They went home with an educational electronic dictionary. And, last but not least, a child from Haneulbit Children¡¯s Home and Lim Han-gu from Bucheon each won a digital camera.
The children of Jiyeong Kindergarten, who had the pleasure of winning the gift for the 300,000th visitor, were thrilled. Kindergarten teacher Kim Hyang-seon, who accompanied the group, said, “I wanted to visit the museum so the children could learn more about robots; in fact, I’ve been keen to visit Bucheon Robo Park for a long time. This was really unexpected but it’s a pleasant surprise. I hope Bucheon Robo Park continues to be the greatest robot exhibition in Korea.”
Bucheon Robo Park planned this event to attract more children to the museum so that they can learn more about this futuristic technology that can push Korea¡¯s economy forward, to attract more people, and to thank those who have supported the museum.
Bucheon Robo Park opened in 2006 and has entertained many visitors with various events and performances not only concerning robots but also science, art, and culture. Other than the regular exhibitions, there are special exhibits and educational experience programs for children.
