Paju City of Gyeonggi Province announced that the 2011 Provence Lighting Festival will start on November 14th in Provence Town of Tanhyeon-myeon.

The theme of this festival is ‘Love through Light.’ This will be the nation’s largest lamp festival with 4 million LED lamps on display.

The lighting ceremony will take place on November 14th at 6 p.m., and it will run from November 19th to January 31st next year.

Visitors can enjoy a 180m-long light tunnel and a heart-shaped park decorated with a variety of colored LED lamps.

Also, in the ‘Sea of Love,’ where 2 million blue LED lamps will illuminate an area of 6,600§³, people can feel as if they are surrounded by waves and shooting stars.

“Paju City’s representative attraction, the DMZ, is inactive during the winter season. So, through this festival, we will attract more foreign tourists who depart Korea from Incheon International Airport at night to the event,”said an official of Paju City.
