‘Ppu-ing, ppu-ing’ is set to become a sensation at the 2012 G-Global Aviation in Ansan, to be held in October.

On July 3, Gyeonggi Province appointed actor Lee Jong-suk as a PR ambassador for this year’s G-Global Aviation in Ansan. Lee Jong-suk, a rising star in the entertainment industry, is widely known for his catchphrase ‘Ppu-ing, ppu-ing’ (used to express an appeal of cuteness) in the MBC sitcom Hi Kick! Revenge of the Short-legged, which ended on June 3. He also appears as an air force pilot in the action movie R2B: Return to Base with pop-star Rain, which is due for release in August.

During a visit to the Gyeonggi Provincial Government Complex, Lee Jong-suk received his appointment as a PR ambassador for G-Global Aviation in Ansan at the Governor’s office, had a short conversation with Governor Kim and moved straight to the quadrangle of the government complex where he was presented with a certificate of appointment, a small aircraft model, and a commemorative plaque. He also had his picture taken standing next to a light aircraft while flying a paper airplane.

Lee Jong-suk will receive training to pilot an ultra-light aircraft during the next three months at Sa-dong Airfield in Sangnok-gu, Ansan City. After studying flight theory, he will take part in flight exercises with an instructor before putting his training into practice with solo flights.

Lee Jong-Suk said, “I was born and raised in Gyeonggi Province. It’s like a dream for me to participate in this great experience. The movie I recently appeared in sparked my interest in aircraft, and now I have become a PR ambassador for G-Global Aviation. The appointment ceremony was attended by ten government officials involved in the sky expo and thirty fans of the actor. The participants included Gyeonggi Province Governor Kim Moon-soo, Ansan Vice Mayor Jeong Seung-bong, Gyeonggi Tourism Organization CEO Hwang Jun-gi, and security consultant Hong Gang-pyo.

Governor Kim said, “We are glad to appoint the new and popular actor Lee Jong-suk as our PR ambassador this year. In reference to the air show held last year, our expo team will take great care to ensure adequate security in view of the expanded variety of activities.”

The 4^th G-Global Aviation in Ansan this year will be held at Gyeonggi Techno Park (1639, Sa-dong, Ansan City) from October 3 to 7. The official name of the event has been changed from ‘International Sky Leisure Expo’ to ‘G-Global Aviation in Ansan’ this year, and the event date has been switched from May to October for reasons of safety.

Discounts of up to 37% and free aircraft boarding opportunities are offered with advance reservation.
