Gyeonggi Province reopened its non-Korean blog in conjunction with its slogan of “Global Inspiration.”
As part of Gyeonggi Province’s program to promote Korea’s leading province to the wider world, the grand re-opening of its non-Korean blog will be accompanied by a special event.
The provincial government’s blog will feature new reply and SNS link functions once it is reopened on September 18th.
The blog will feature the latest news and information on the provincial government’s important policies in Japanese and Chinese (Cantonese and Mandarin). The government will upload original articles on policies, culture, tourism, and English news for foreign residents living in Gyeonggi Province and beyond.
An official of Gyeonggi Province’s New Media Office said, “The old blog only posted information, and there was no way for viewers to exchange opinions. Now, visitors can post a reply or share an article on Twitter or Facebook, and thereby reach out to a wider audience.”
Meanwhile, the Gyeonggi Provincial Government is planning back-to-back events for one month up until October 18. Anyone wishing to participate will have to leave a congratulatory reply, submit a blog name suggestion, and spot examples of Konglish in the text. Those who pass each mission will get a chance to win anywhere from KRW 10,000 to 500,000.
The local government opened Gyeonggi Province’s official English-language page on Facebook (http://www.facebook.com/foreigngg) in March this year to post the latest news.
