The Hope Sharing Campaign’s purpose is to help those in our poor neighborhoods during the year-end holidays. Contributions collected during the campaign will be delivered to our underserved neighbors by the Gyeonggi Community Chest of Korea. The target collection amount through this campaign is 12.88 billion won, which is 5.5% more than donations collected last year (12.2 billion won). This campaign will run until January 31, 2013.

During the campaign inauguration ceremony, Governor Kim Moon-soo offered an encouraging message, stating, “I seek our citizens’ care and attention for our neighbors to help bring a warm winter to each and every corner of our community.” The chairperson of donation collection added, “We need your active donations to help our neighbors stay warm this winter. We ask for your assistance to restore our sense of community and to sustain our communities.” On inauguration day, various events took place such as hanging wish fruits, neighbor love donations, the Demonstration of raising the temperature of Happiness Temperature Tower to 100 degrees, and the happy bursting of a gourd. At the event venue, there were a variety of experience halls such as a food sharing courtyard, senior citizens’ life experience hall, folk play experience hall, and CCK promotional hall to entertain citizens who attended the ceremony.
