According to Yonhap News,

Gyeonggi ranks 1st in the number of foreign residents in Korea, maintaining the top status for the six straight years.
The figure stands at 424,946, accounting for 30 percent of the total number of foreign residents in Korea.
The number of children of foreign residents has also grown 6.4 times from 6,617 in 2007 to 42,365 in 2012.
By region, Ansan has the largest number of foreign residents with 6,583 (14.3%), followed by Suwon’s 4,537 (9.5 %), Hwaseong’s 32,950 (7.8 %), Seongnam’s 27,457 (6.5 %) and Bucheon’s 26,148 (6.2 %).
“The increasing number of foreign residents in Gyeonggi seems to be attributable to many industrial complexes and pleasant working environments and the rise in the number of female immigrants marrying Koreans,” said a Gyeonggi Local Government official.
