The largest super deluxe hotel of Gyeonggi Province ‘Daemyung MVL Hotel KINTEX’ was opened on March 20th at the Goyang Korean Wave World complex, where K-pop Arena is scheduled to be built.
MVL Hotel KINTEX, as a super deluxe hotel, has a total of 377 rooms and is the first hotel having over 300 rooms in Gyeonggi Province. It has 20 stories above ground and 4 below, containing 34 suite rooms, 343 standard rooms, 5 banquet halls, and business center. The brand name ‘The MVL’ refers to the most valuable life.
At the opening event, about 500 distinguished guests participated in including Gyeonggi Province Governor Kim Moon-soo, Daemyung Group President Park Choon-hee, Goyang City Mayor Choi Sung, chairman of Goyang City Council Park Yoon-hee, and president of Korea Tourism Organization Lee Cham. The guests celebrated the opening by performing tape cutting ceremony and rounding the hotel inside.
“I am pleased that we are opening the largest and the best hotel in Gyeonggi Province. Since I took office as a provincial governor, to build a hotel in our region was one of my greatest goals. There are countless tourism resources and a lot of businesses operating in Gyeonggi Province. However, we had difficulty in utilizing such opportunities due to a lack of accommodations,” said Governor Kim.
“As MVL Hotel opens, we can address accommodations for business trips and personal tours. When we don’t stay at a lodge, the memories of the tour don’t last so long. Therefore, it becomes difficult to lure revisit of the visitors.” He added. “For the opening, I expect an increase in the regional economic effect such as creation of quality jobs and increasing number of tourists.” He also said.

Gyeonggi Province now has a total of 3 super deluxe hotels adding MVL Hotel KINTEX. As of now, super deluxe hotel over 200 rooms includes Hwaseong Rolling Hills Hotel (282 rooms) and Ramada Plaza Hotel Suwon (232 rooms), and the province has 5 second-super deluxe hotels including Ibis Ambassador Suwon (2nd super deluxe, 240 rooms).
After the opening of MVL Hotel, it is expected to attract foreign tourists and buyers, thereby vitalizing the local market including Lafesta district.
Moreover, quality jobs were created in the region. Daemyung Hotel hired 90 new employees from Goyang Woman Resources Development Center in January, 45 of whom are residents of Gyeonggi Province. Currently, 73% of the whole 340 employees of MVL Hotel KINTEX are Gyeonggi residents.
Meanwhile, the province expects that a total of 4,000 rooms are needed within Korean Wave World and the KINTEX district to secure rooms for yearly 1.1 million foreign tourists and buyers visiting Paju DMZ security tourist spot, LCD District, and KINTEX. Therefore, the province also expects that the opening of MVL Hotel will serve as a momentum for attracting more interests from hotel investors.
