Gyeonggi Urban Innovation Corporation holds ‘Visiting Concert of Hope’ in celebration of Disability Day
 
Magic and classical music performance and Korean Trditional Paper Hanji making experience at Yongin Gangnam School
 
 
 
Gyeonggi Urban Innovation Corporation (President Jae Young Lee) held on the 19th the 7th Visitiong Concert of Hope at Yongin Gangnam School, the hall of learning for the disabled children in Yongin region, in celebration of the 33rd Disability Day (April 20)
 
 
This event visited the school for the disabled students who can hardly visit concerts and provided them with an opportunity to experience various cultural and artistic programs they like, including magic, traditional fan dance, strings, wind instruments, and vocal music
 
 
This event was made even more meaningful as ‘Ebenezer Ensemble’, a club of students of Yongin Gangnam School, performed for the event to show their infinite potentials to communicate with the world through music beyond disability
 
 
“The Visiting Concert of Hope is a social contribution activity that brings the opportunity to experience culture to culturally isolated regions or organizations in Gyeonggi-do”, said President Jae Young Lee of Gyeonggi Urban Innovation Corporation. “We will fulfill our social responsibilities more actively to give hope and courage to our neighbors in need.”
 
 
Gyeonggi Urban Innovation Corporation has held the Visiting Concert of Hope once every quarter since 2010 for multicultural families, the leprosy town, and the senior welfare facilities in Gyeonggi-do under the slogan to ‘Learn to have hope and sing for happiness.’ Three additional perfomances will be planned this week and the welfare facilities in Gyeonggi-do, such as children’s welfare facilities, senior welfare facilities, and disability welfare facilities, can request the Visiting Concert of Hope on the Gyeonggi Urban Innovation Corporation Hompage (www.gico.or.kr)
 
 
Yongin Gangnam School (founded in March 2011) is a special education school for children with intellectual and developmental disability in Yongin and currently attended by about 150 students from pre-schoolers to high schoolers
