Gyeonggi Province will be having two promotional presentations for Japanese parts manufacturers in May and July. These presentations will be held in collaboration with the related Japanese government institutes.
The initial presentation will take place this 21st to 24th in Tokyo with help from Sangyo Times Japan. Companies will be given one-on-one consultations during this event.
The Sangyo Times manufactures an industry-focused newspaper that was founded in 1967. It currently publishes 300,000 papers for 5 different newspapers, which are each dedicated to IT, semiconductors, displays, energy, and batteries.
This promotional presentation program will do more than merely introduce investment opportunities in Gyeonggi Province. The Sangyo Time’s Korean branch director will be giving his “What Makes Gyeonggi Province Worth Investing In” and “Samsung Electronics’ 2013 Strategy.” The event is expected to attract Japanese companies that are looking for direct information.
The promotion in July will be for Yano Research Institute, which is one of Japan’s finest economic research centers, and for 50 of the largest parts manufacturers in the Kansai area.
Such cooperative efforts to seek out potential investors with professional institutes in Japan will have various effects. For example, 60% of The Sangyo Times’ readers are company executives who have a say in investment. The Yano Research Institute is considered to be Japan’s greatest think tank along with the Nomura Research Institute. Collaboration with such establishments will grant access to a wide pool of information on potential investors.
Gyeonggi Province’s strategy is to connect with these professional research centers to amplify the promotional presentation’s effects.
The local government is planning to carry on in its collaborations with professional institutes to tap into more Japanese investors in 2013. For instance, the Gyeonggi Province government, hand-in-hand with KOTRA, will search for those who are willing to invest in secondary and third party parts manufacturers.
The municipal government is showing no signs of backing down in their pursuit to obtain more investments from Japanese companies this year.
