Governor Kim initiates agricultural exchanges with Mexico.

Governor Kim had luncheon with Mexico’s Secretary of Agriculture Enrique, who visited Gyeonggi Province, and promised to pass down its agricultural techniques on June 11.

Gyeonggi Governor Kim Moon-soo initiated agricultural exchanges between Gyeonggi Province and Mexico.

Governor Kim had luncheon with 21-member Mexican delegation, led by Secretary of Agriculture, Livestock, Rural Development, Fisheries, and Food, Enrique Martinez, on June 11.

The Mexican delegation, who arrived in Korea on June 10, will visit Rural Development Administration, Gyeonggi Province, and Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs and discuss over the ways of bilateral agricultural exchanges with Korea by 12.

At the meeting, Governor Kim shared cooperative plans in the agricultural sector with Secretary Enrique and promised to pass down Gyeonggi’s agricultural techniques and to conduct joint research.

At the luncheon meeting of the day, the special relation between Governor Kim and the incumbent president of Mexico Enrique Peña Nieto was introduced, and that became the talk of the conversation for a while.

Mexican President Enrique used to be the governor of Mexico State, which has maintained sisterhood relationship with Gyeonggi Province. After he was elected president last July, Governor Kim immediately wrote a letter to him to celebrate his inauguration. President Enrique continues relationship with Governor Kim by replying to his’ letters with gratitude in last July and this April, respectively.

Against this backdrop, Gyeonggi Province is planning to visit Mexico State by forming the Korean delegation and have a meeting with Mexican President Enrique to discuss over the measures for exchanges and cooperation between Gyeonggi Province and Mexico in this October.
