Korea’s recent camping population is estimated at around three million. As family-unit campers have been increasing, many look for camping sites to enjoy with their children. 

That is why we found this: Top 5 auto camping sites which children are likely to enjoy.

These places are cool and tranquil like the recreational forest. Among them, I’d like to begin with the place I visited. 

Here is Gamgol Farm located in Daeja-dong, Goyang City. 

Some might wonder if this is really  a camping site from its name. This placed was named because it used to be a place to cultivate persimmons. Afterwards, it opened a restaurant on the place, and then  it has changed from  experience learning site into an auto camping site and a Korean traditional pension house from a few years ago.   

Now, let’s take a close look into the place. 

The best of Gamgol Farm is the garden which has been well maintained by the owner for several years. 

Filled with nearly 50 species of wildflowers, the garden relaxes visitors just by looking around. Between beautiful flowers, butterflies and dragonflies dance restlessly. These are what we cannot see in other camping sites. 

Also, wildflower experience learning programs for children are held regularly. Therefore, this can be a great opportunity for urban children to have special experience.  

Behind the garden with a full of wildflower is a picturesque Korean traditional house located. Currently, this is operated as a pension house. The exterior of the house, the garden, and soy sauce crocks standing in line beside the garden induce nostalgia and make visitors more relaxed. 

Many separate rooms seemed very tidy and cool. Choosing to stay here for one night for those who don’t want to be bothered by making a tent might not be a bad idea. 

 Now, I want to introduce to you the camping site in detail.

In Gamgol Farm, there are a total of 20 tent sites. Considering nearly 5,000 pyeong of the whole site, the number is relatively small. The farm reportedly did not increase in permitted tent numbers within the area excessively in order to create a pleasant environment in a natural state. 

 Apart from the tent sites, wood decks with shading nets were set up throughout the camping site. The decks are used for a barbeque party during the day, not for overnight campinig. Each deck can accommodate up to 10 people. 

The meat roasted on the deck would be much more delicious than we eat in other places.

 Walking around the forest, I found visitors who were enjoying camping.

A six-year experienced camper  said, “Gangol Farm is close to my house, so I often visit here.” adding that, “Because I had some spare time, I came here with my friends for relaxing. It’s fantastic to spend my time calmly.”

In addition, Gamgol Farm is equipped with electricity, toilets, and shower rooms, so it is safe to say that it is one of the best places as an auto camping site. Please be aware that visitors can have fun in the small valley created on one side of the camping site during the summer. Only children can enjoy in the valley.
