Western Gyeonggi One-Stop Support Center opened at Hando Hospital in Ansan as the 16th center in Korea.

Western Gyeonggi One-Stop Support Center (WGOSC) opened its door on July 24 at Hando Hospital in Ansan City in order to offer customized supporting services to women and victims of childhood violence.
One-Stop Support Center (OSC) provides a wide variety services including counseling, medical care, legal service, and investigation for victims of sexual violence, family violence, and school violence for 24/7, and WGOSC was funded a total budget of KRW 300 million at government expense.
At the opening ceremony of WGOSC of the day, nearly 100 guests participated including Gyeonggi Governor Kim Moon-soo, Minister of Gender Equality and Family Cho Yoonsun, Hando Hospital President Shin Ok, and Gyeonggi Provincial Police Agency (GPPA) Commissioner Lee Man-hyee.
In accordance with the joint agreement, Gyeonggi Province, Hando Hospital which is commissioned to operate WGOSC, and Gyeonggi Provincial Police Agency (GPPA), will provide victims and families and their families with counseling support; medical care services such as emergency treatment, first aid kit for sexual violence and psychotherapy; and investigation and legal service support such as video recording of statement recording, written record of statement and legal counseling, respectively.
Measuring 143㎡ (43pyeong) within Hando Hospital, the office of WGOSC comprises Counseling Room, Victim Relaxing Room, Statement Recording Room, and Doctor’s Room (provided with medical equipment for obstetrics and gynecology), and policewomen, counselors, and nurses work in shifts for 24/365.
Gyeonggi Province forecasts that launching WGOSC will make western Gyeonggi regions such as Ansan City, Bucheon City, and Hwaseong City more accessible to victims of women violence and school violence.

In the opening ceremony, Governor Kim said, “It’s a great pleasure to open the 16th OSC in Ansan, and emphasized, “As workers from 66 different countries reside in Ansan, the city needs continued attention. I kindly ask Ministry of Gender Equality and Family for keeping attention on this issue.”
He also added, “OSC is the place where victims get first aid for their physical and mental health. I hope this center will serve its role in offering victim-centered services and in eradicating four major vices including sexual violence and family violence. Gyeonggi Province will pay constant attention to and make efforts for them, too.”
Minister of Gender Equality and Family Cho Yoonsun said, “As efforts of Southern Gyeonggi OSC and Uijeongbu OSC for supporting victims have paid off , I have great expectations for WGOSC, too.” and added, “OSC is unprecedented in the world. I hope that everyone will exert efforts so that victims can heal their wounds through OSC.”
Meanwhile, there are a total of 16 OSCs nationwide, three of which are located in Gyeonggi Province, including WGOSC at Hando Hospital opened on that day, Ajou University Hospital, and Gyeonggi Provincial Medical Center of Uijeongbu.
