Gyeonggi Province collected consulting results worth USD 16.76 million and export contracts worth USD 14.96 million at the Intertextile Shanghai Apparel Fabrics 2013.
The Intertextile Shanghai Apparel Fabrics is the most major exhibition in Asia exhibiting textile materials, yarn and subsidiary materials for clothing. This year, the event was held from October 21 to 24 with total size of 170,000㎡. Over 3,700 textile companies from 35 nations worldwide participated in the exhibition, 13 of them from Gyeonggi Province.
Company S from Gyeonggi exhibited a variety of high-quality knitwear, succeeding in contracts worth USD 490,000 on the spot, while Company C made contracts worth USD 270,000 with artificial leather for lining that improves the heat-retaining effect.
Gyeonggi managed a collaborative pavilion through the Shanghai Gyeonggi Textile Marketing Center that had opened back in May, acting as a proxy for companies facing difficulties in costs and language barriers. Moreover, the province funded 50% of total costs for participating companies such as rents for booths, installation costs, and shipping expenses.
“We will continue to provide support for Gyeonggi’s textile companies to participate in famous global exhibitions for their overseas marketing in 2014,” said an official in the Specialized Industry Division.
Small and medium-sized textile and furniture companies in Gyeonggi that are pursuing overseas market expansions by participating in global exhibitions can contact the Specialized Industry Division of the Gyeonggi Provincial Government Northern Office or the Northern Business Support Center at 031-850-7134 for more information.
