Foreign investors that contributed to vitalizing local economy and creating jobs for the past year were encouraged for their efforts at 『Day of Foreign Investors in Gyeonggi-do 2013.

Gyeonggi-do government invited executives and officials from foreign-invested companies in the region and related organizations to the event held on the 11th of December in the Gwanggyo Hall of Gyeonggi Small Business Center.

The event, joined by about 170 guests including Byeongrak Lee, chairperson of Gyeonggi Association of Foreign Invested Companies and executives and officials from foreign companies in the region and related organizations, has been an chance for the attending people to strengthen their relations and mutual interest.

Gyeonggi government awarded appreciation plaques to enterprises appointed as best foreign-invested companies as such as Hanam Union Square, KNR Systems, 3M Korea and Telstar-Hommel, and praised their efforts.
The Governor of Gyeonggi Province, Moonsoo Kim, said “The Gyeonggi government is doing its best to create the ideal condition for companies by making new policy proposals such as Special Employment Law. Companies considering investing in a new manufacturing or R&D facility, they can come to us first to utilize diverse supports available now or in future.”

Investment promotion department chief of Gyeonggi province, Jaehong Yeo, was next on the podium to present investment information – detailed investment attracting strategy, available sites open for investment, support plan for foreign investor/company.

Gyeonggi government has managed to add about 10,000 new jobs by attracting about 2.25 billion USD from 18 foreign investors in 2013 alone.

Meanwhile, a group of saxophone players from the Cheongbuk middle school and Telstar-Hommel, which is based in Hyungok industrial complex in Pyeongtaek city, performed at the beginning of the event to represent foreign invested companies in harmony with local community.
