Gyeonggi Province (Governor Kim Moon-soo) and Incheon Metropolitan City (Mayor Song Young-gil) are hosting Incheon-Gyeonggi Mega Fam Tour for four days from December 10 to 13, inviting 42 travel agencies in Asia in celebration of 2014 Incheon Asian Games.

In the Fam Tour, a total of 42 travel agencies are participating, such as Shanghai’s FIT exclusive travel agency C-trip, 18 Chinese agencies from Beijing and Shandong, nine agencies from Hong Kong, top three Korean outgoing travel agencies in Taiwan, and others from Japan, Thailand, Indonesia, Malaysia and Singapore.

These travel agencies will conduct an in-situ survey for product development, looking around the 2014 Incheon Asian Games venue and major tourism resources in Gyeonggi and Incheon. Carried out by Gyeonggi Tourism Organization, the tour of Gyeonggi consists of high value-added product development courses focusing on shopping and beauty experiences, including new hotels in Gyeonggi, New Hallyu Gallery in Goyang, One Mount, Paju Skin Anniversary Beauty Town, Suwon Haenggung-gil workshops, Icheon Cerapia and Premium Outlets.

In particular, this event includes the ‘Travel Mart’ with over 40 participants from Incheon’s representative tourist businesses and 40 participants from 30 companies of Gyeonggi Overseas Marketing Professional Association (GOMPA), planning to develop tour packages that connect Gyeonggi and Incheon in 2014.

This is the first collaborative project of Gyeonggi and Incheon to attract overseas tourists and promote full-scale joint marketing. Moreover, this was fully supported by the central government, which is expected to show future support to successfully host Incheon Asian Games. There have been insufficient tour course connections between Gyeonggi and Incheon despite its regional proximity.

“Through this Mega Fam Tour promoted as part of the regional tourism vitalization project by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, we can launch a TF team in Gyeonggi Tourism Organization and Incheon Development & Tourism Corporation in the future to produce additional synergy effects such as developing collaborative products for 2014 Incheon Asian Games,” said Hwang Jun-ki, President of Gyeonggi Tourism Organization.
