The Gyeonggi Joint Countermeasures Headquarters will begin offering psychotherapy for Danwon High School students suffering from psychological anxiety, as well as middle and high-school students in Ansan.
Gyeonggi Province and Ansan completed forming the Integrated Disaster Psychological Support Group consisting of 200 psychiatrists and 600 psychological counselors on the 21st, and send an official notice out to 29 middle schools and 23 high schools in Ansan to apply for psychological counseling.
The Integrated Disaster Psychological Support Group will assign 50 doctors and 200 professional psychological counselors to schools that apply for the service. The mental stability education is expected to take about 5 days per school.
A separate psychological support center will be established by the Office of Education in Danwon High School. 135 pediatric psychiatrists will be assigned for the job, and 20 of them each day will provide mental stability support education and counseling for teachers, students and parents that will return to school starting on the 24th. Surviving students will be receiving intensive one-to-one counseling from psychiatrists, while teachers and other students will receive separate mental stability education.
The Gyeonggi Joint Countermeasures Headquarters increased the number of psychological counseling centers that had only been in Korea University Ansan Hospital up to total 11 centers, establishing 8 in funeral halls in Ansan as well as mobile counseling buses. The Countermeasures Headquarters will establish additional counseling centers to all 31 cities and counties in the province.
